Predicting the NBA Finals

The NBA Finals is now and it is one of the best teams all regular season in the Denver Nuggets facing off against the Miami Heat. The Heat are late bloomers in the whole race, taking the playoffs by storm led by Jimmy Butler. It kind of seems like the 1999 NBA Finals where the 1-seed Spurs led by their young big man in Tim Duncan and were facing off against the 8th-seed Knicks.

The Heat are being led by Jimmy Butler, a man who has become unstoppable in these playoffs while leading his team to an unprecedented Finals run. A run that included losing their first play-in game and being 3 minutes away from losing the second one. The Heat stomped on the Bucks and the Knicks and then nearly blew a 3-0 lead to the Boston Celtics, but thanks to players like Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson and Max Strus, and others. The Heat proved they belong here and Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are ready to take the hardware.

The Nuggets are led by the 2-time MVP in Nikola Jokić, who is quickly paving his own path to being one of the game's greats, while also having a co-star in Jamal Murray, who absolutely goes insane any time he is playing in the playoffs. Their role players have been stellar too by stepping up when it's needed. It seems like Denver is just the best team in the NBA and this is their time.

These two teams have very different paths to getting here, but they got here and now it's time for the series to unfold. I believe that this is the Nuggets' time to shine and it is time for Jokić to get his first ring. Even though Jimmy and the Heat will give a valiant effort, I don't think it will be enough.

Prediction: Nuggets in 6, Nikola Jokić wins Finals MVP
